Reflexology
Reflexology is a deeply relaxing therapy aiming to help restore health and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium by gently manipulating reflex points on the feet that connect with the rest of the body.
It is an energy based therapy dating back to ancient Egypt, China and India. With over 7,000 nerve endings on the feet as well as many reflex points that connect with the rest of the body, reflexology can help stimulate the circulatory and immune systems as well as balance the nervous system and hormonal functions.
Conditions that response well to reflexology include :
- Asthma
- Anxiety
- Digestive disorders
- Low immunity
- High blood pressure
- Poor sleep
- Pregnancy symptoms
- Sinusitis
- Stress
The stress factor – Stress is believed to trigger 85% of physical illness. Reflexology is particularly beneficial to those who find it difficult to wind down, providing support on an emotional and physical level to manage the stress that day to day life can bring.
Weekly treatments are suggested initially for certain conditions as reflexology has a building effect.
Initial treatment 1hr £40 and follow-up treatments 45min-1hr £35.
Jo has a particular interest in pregnancy reflexology and has worked with many pregnant clients, helping alleviate common symptoms associated with pregnancy, as well as helping women prepare for smoother labours. Babies often seem calmer when born as a result. Her approach is influenced by Dr Gowri Motha’s ‘Gentle Birth Method’.
Combined Nutrition and Reflexology sessions are also available on request.
