Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state we all experience – when you become absorbed in an activity so that the time just seems to stop. Many healers and teachers throughout the ages have used this trance state as it enables the person wishing to make changes in their behaviour to open up to new more beneficial ideas.

Brief solution focused psychotherapy works with the problem in the present. It is often unnecessary to look back to why or when it began as what is more important is the way it is affecting your life now.

What will happen in a session?

The session starts with a discussion. We will begin by building up a picture of you, the reason you have come, and some background about your lifestyle, what you enjoy doing and your motivation for changing some aspect of yourself or your life. We will then decide on the goal of the session – sometimes more than one session is indicated in which case we will have short term and longer term goals. You can ask questions and I explain why certain things are happening. I will then begin to work with you hypnotically, teaching you how to relax deeply and use your subconscious and imagination in really positive ways to make the changes you desire.

People find this part of the session very pleasant indeed, you are completely in control but can experience a really deep level of relaxation, just as you might when having a really relaxing massage!
